Maj Jepson back on the skis

Back on the skis!:)

This week I finally had my first set on the water. After an ACL rupture in August 2012 I’ve been doing rehab all winter and still am. I miss skiing and I work very determined to get back into the women’s jump elite.

I will have to build everything back up again and the first month on the water will still be considered ”waterski rehab”. I’ll focus a lot on controlling the skis, lots of balance on one ski and basically just awareness. The new ACL in my knee still isn’t recovered as it takes approx one year to do so. For that reason it is important to be patient and not push anything too hard as it is still fragile even though my other bodyparts are back to a strong condition.

I live in Denmark and like all other Northern European contries these spring months are pretty cold. To other skiers skiing in the cold I’ll strongly recommand the comftable Stokes speedsuit. It really helps big time keeping me and my knee joint warm. Even though it’s super tight it’s easy to put on and I don’t even notice it on the water, thanks to the extremely stretchy material.
