Robert Hazelwood qualifies from MLCQ #2 for the US MASTERS
Rob Hazelwood, battled his way to qualify for the US MASTERS waterski event this past weekend. The second stop of the Masters Last chance Qualifier, Rob skied to a new Personal Best of 4 @ 41 off (10.25m) to earn third place, and a qualification spot. All eyes will be on this young phenom as he hits robin Lake for the first time as a Masters athlete.
Elizabeth Montavon upped her score to 1 1/2 @ 39 off, but needed just 1 1/2 buoys more to get that all important 3rd spot. Great skiing from the skiordie.com website and podcast founder. A lady who is doing great things in the waterski circuit and pushing hard for the chance to ski the Masters. Elizabeth will be heading to Travers Skis School this weekend for a chance to claim one of two qualification spots.
Scot the Rocketman Ellis was in action this weekend jumping to a 207ft leap. Scot looked great and will want to take his momentum into some even bigger jumps next weekend. Qualification is close for scot as we all know he can pop out an easy 220+ft leap.
Rodrigo Miranda, coming so close in MLCQ #1, couldn't quite get the legs together for MLCQ #2. He'll be looking to put together the aggressive cuts he has with maximum lift. Toti has been in sensational form jumping, as well as coaching the next generation of young Chilean athletes.
The site for MLCQ #3 will be at Jack Travers Ski School in Groveland, Florida. Weather forecast is looking perfect for some great skiing and a great day out. Scores can be followed on waterskiresults.com starting MAY 21-23.
