Stokes Athletes perform at the World Championships
Stokes Team Skiers brought their A game to the World Waterski Championships last weekend. A perfect site, perfect conditions, and trained up skiers created the perfect storm for incredibly high levels of skiing.
Jacinta Carrol continued her phenomenal form to keep her streak of World Championship wins alive. Jacinta set a World Championship record with 59.4m to bring home the title.
Elizabeth Montavon, competing in her first World Title event progressed through to the final with some sensational slalom skiing, in one of the highest cuts Elizabeth scored a great 1 1/2 @ 39off to give here the opportunity to compete in the World Finals. Elizabeth, one of the hardest working skiers on the tour will be looking to continue her fine recent form at the Mastercraft pro event in a couple weeks.
Robert Hazelwood, who has been on fire this year scored 3@41off, 9880 in tricks, and jumped 62.7m to post solid overall scores and got so close to a bronze medal. Rob, who has been agressivley challenging the podium in Slalom all year got so close again to another podium finish, finishing just 1 buoy away. Rob in his first full season on the pro circuit has turned heads and will be looking to round out his season at the Mastercraft Pro event.
Scot "the Rocketman" Ellis, came out guns a blazing in the qualifying rounds, rolling back the years with a 65.4m jump. Scot who is competing in his 30th season was flying into the finals. Scot is a tru legend of our sport and will leading the charge again at the Mastercraft Pro event.
