Stokes Skiers Shine at U21 worlds
The U21 worlds came to a successful close yesterday, with a successful trip from our young groms.
Jacinta Carrol took out the overall and Jump title this weekend with some fantastic skiing. Rabbit, who has been blowing it up over the recent season in the jump event, also impressed in slalom and tricks. At just 21 years of age, Rabbit looks set for a long and successful career.
Josh Briant, who all summer long had been nursing an ankle injury took out the trick title. Josh leading from the prelims, showed true mental ability by blasting through 2 faultless runs, grabbing the title in the process. Having only started back on the water 2 weeks ago, this is a fantastic achievement for Josh.
Taylor Garcia, one of the youngest skiers in the event at just 15 years of age gave some of the older skiers a glance over there shoulder. Josh jumping at the slower speed of 33mph instead of 35mph posted a new PB with a leap of 195ft, putting him in 5th place.
A big congratulations to the Garcia family for hosting the World U21’s and everyone who helped in the organization. Fantastic acheivement from all.
